Samuel Mayanja - Director School of working adults at Cavendish University
Samuel Mayanja is currently the Director School of working adults at Cavendish University. He previously served as the Coordinator for Postgraduate Studies and Research. He is an educator and higher education administrator with experience spanning over 10 years. He is also a lecturer of Business and Management. His areas of interest are entrepreneurship, project management and strategic management.
Before joining Cavendish University in April 2009, Samuel was Director of SAO Microfinance for 3 years supporting 14 SACCOs in Central and Eastern Uganda promoting financial inclusion. Previously, he worked as Projects and Finance Manager for Share An opportunity Uganda overseeing the management of integrated project on population and development for 12 years. He also worked an Accountant for the same organization for 6 years.
Samuel holds a PhD in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship) from Makerere University (awaiting graduation in January), MBA Project Management- Makerere University; Post graduate Diploma – Micro finance operations from Makerere University Business School, BBA (Accounting) from Makerere University. He also obtained a Diploma in Procurement and Supplies Management from Kyambongo University. He is a certified trainer of Microfinance services (World Bank), Certified trainer in Small and Medium Business Development (Regent University –USA). His research interest is in entrepreneurial networking among SMEs. Samuel lends his time and expertise to a number of organizations. He is the chairperson of Children At Risk (CRANE), he is also a chairperson of Special children Trust, Board member of COME UGANDA, Director of Kikandwa Community Secondary School. Faculty Board member of Business Development Center.
