Mr. Amos Olal-Odur - Academic Register
Mr. Amos Olal-Odur is currently the Academic register at Cavendish University. He is an educator and higher education administrator with experience spanning over 25 years and is well endowed with a real knack for handling student issues. Mr. Olal-Odur is the chief coordinator of all matters pertaining to the academic organization of the University, having accumulated a wealth of experience in education management at secondary and tertiary levels. He is thus well acquainted with higher education policies and regulations in the region and was Secretary to the Committee that Makerere University set up in 1995/96 to develop the semester system and guidelines which are now in use in most of Ugandan Universities.
Before joining Cavendish University in May 2016, Mr. Olal- Odur was Academic Registrar/Ag. University Secretary at International University of East Africa where he spent five years overseeing admissions & records; examinations, as well as staff development and ceremonies. Previously Mr. Olal-Odur started as a graduate teacher for Kakira Secondary School and Comboni College. He became deputy head teacher at Comboni College and later rose to the ranks of Academic Registrar of Makerere University for five years from 2004 to 2009. Other positions previously held include; Examiner for the Uganda National Examinations Board in Literature in English and Geography
Mr. Olal- Odur holds a Master of Education degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Concurrent Diploma in Education from Makerere University; as well as various professional certifications. In addition, he lends his time and expertise to a number of organizations including: Council of Makerere University Business School, Board of Governors of Apala Secondary School, Alebtong District, Uganda National Examinations Board, Makerere University Convocation, All Saints' University, Lango Council, Board of Trustees of Lango Community (Kampala Areas); and is regularly appointed a member of the Inspection/Verification Team to Tertiary Institutions and Universities by the National Council for Higher Education. He is also a husband and proud father of five children.
