Cavendish University Uganda at the 2023 EA Regional Hub In-Person Meeting of The Education Collaborative held in Ethiopia

Cavendish University Uganda (CUU) was invited to a two-day, in-person consultative meeting of the East Africa Regional Hub of The Education Collaborative in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that was held from 03rd – 06th May 2023. The meeting was the third annual meeting held by the East Africa Regional Hub since it was established in 2021.

CUU was represented by the Executive Director, Mr. David Mutabanura and the Careers and Employability Officer, Mr. Bernard Ochan. Under the theme “Reflecting on our achievements and charting a Course for the Future,” the meeting mainly focused on evaluating the hub’s progress, outlining strategies, and regional priorities that would deliver quality student outcomes as well as drive the required sustainable development.

At the meeting, members in attendance looked back on the past year and took stock of the Hub’s successes and challenges. The EA Member institutions received updates on the progress made toward achieving the Hub’s strategic goals, evaluated the progress so far and brainstormed ideas for how to move forward in the coming year including areas of growth and development.

The event was attended by other HEI leaders and executives from the hub’s member institutions, including Rongo University, Kepler College, Riara University, University of Embu, Davis College, Strathmore University, United States International University – Africa, Rwanda Polytechnic, Umma University, DEDAN KIMATHI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (DeKUT), and The Management University of Africa.

It was a great opportunity for all attendees to share their experiences and insights, and to learn from one another. The discussions were lively and engaging, and everyone left with a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the region.

Overall, the meeting was a resounding success, and CUU looks forward to continuing its collaboration with The Education Collaborative (EduCollab) and fellow member institutions to drive positive change in East Africa.
