Dr. Alice Wabule

Dr. Alice Wabule is a trained educator, researcher and development ethics practitioner with management and leadership experience at higher institutions of learning and NGO sector.

She holds a PhD in Applied Professional Ethics from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. Dr. Wabule is currently a post-doctoral researcher fellow at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg South Africa.

Prior to joining Cavendish University Uganda, Dr. Wabule worked as lecturer and Associate Director at the Institute for Ethics and Development Studies, Uganda Martyrs University, secondary school teacher, as well as director and programme coordinator at a local NGO, Uganda Ethics and Governance Outreach, which she cofounded with a team of other academicians. She has engaged in implementing donor funded projects with the youths, women, the children and other vulnerable groups at grassroots communities. She also worked as Coordinator for the Seven International Conference on Ethics and International Development at the department of Philosophy, Makerere University, and, served for three years as Secretary, International Development Ethics Association (IDEA).

Dr. Wabule has a Masters in Ethics and Public Management, a post graduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor’s degree (Economics and Philosophy) of Makerere University, Uganda. Additionally, she holds several certificates, among them- certificate in Management of Land Acquisition for Development Projects, awarded by Brac University in Conjunction with World Bank and another in Pluralism, Human Development and Human Rights, awarded by the Center for Religious and Cross- Cultural Studies, The University of Gadjah Mada Indonesia.

Dr. Alice Wabule is interested to research on ethical leadership and professionalism, sustainable systems for democratic governance, diversity and inclusion, human rights and community empowerment.
