Inspired by Smart Green Island and organised by ITQ GmbH in collaboration with the Africa Start-up Summit, it was the first Makeathon not only in Tunisia but on the entire African continent.

SGTM took place at the Laico Hotel from 21st to 24th September, 2019. The 4-day challenge which attracted University teams from over 20 countries was full of innovations focused on Smart Home, Smart City, IoT, Automation, Robotics, Smart Farming, Smart Production, Smart Health, Smart and Green Energy, Smart Mobility as well as Artificial Intelligence.

Kenneth exhibited the 'Public Taxi, Uganda App', which he developed with the aim of improving safety and security of communal taxi users in the country. The app is designed to monitor, connect & build relationships between passengers, drivers and vehicle owners which in turn helps to curb crime such as theft of property and to make all parties feel secure.

Africa Startup Summit - Afric'Up is the biggest event dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship and the promotion of talents of African Youth. The summit offers African young innovators an ecosystem from which to launch and accelerate their start-up ideas. The conference was well attended and brought together more than 150 speakers and renowned investors under the theme, "Smart Cities & Open Innovation in Africa, what opportunities for startups?"
